This massive food waste not only adds to global poverty but also contributes to global greenhouse gas emissions. Even though food naturally decomposes, the huge volumes of methane gas that the decayed waste food generates make this a moot point. Each composting machine is made of 304-grade stainless steel, and the decomposition chamber employs heat and mechanical agitation. To reduce energy consumption, the chamber features an oil jacket with significant insulation and well-sealed inlet and outlet doors. The system is fitted with an odor management device to control odors emanating from the decomposition process. Ecovim machines only require electricity to produce compost that can be reused, making the company truly eco-friendly.
Being innovators in the field of organic waste treatment technologies, Ecovim uses a different technique to comprehend and measure the temperature of composting chambers.As opposed to most other systems that rely on moisture sensors, the company employs a temperature sensor to continuously monitor the temperature within the chambers. Moisture sensors, on the other hand, are not very accurate since various food wastes may have different cooling thresholds. Once a specified temperature is reached, the device automatically shuts down and begins the cooling process.

What truly distinguishes the Ecovim machines is their ability to reduce food waste by up to 90 percent in volume and weight and convert it into biomass, which can be used as a soil amendment, animal feed, or biofuel.



Yang goes on to highlight their long-standing success story with the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, where for a long time, Ecovim’s eco-friendly range of small and medium scale machines has been producing biomass. The biomass is eventually utilized by a landscaping company in their landscaping projects in Disneyland and throughout the city of Anaheim.


Even though Ecovim has already established itself as a pioneer in onsite waste management solutions, they are indeed not content to rest on their laurels. Ecovim has already plans on the drawing board to introduce eco-friendly home composting equipment for individuals who care about the environment. These home units would replace the existing garbage disposal procedure and enable households to convert their food waste into biomass. Homeowners can simply segregate their food waste and redirect it from the sewage, following which it can be converted into biomass and used in their garden. Ecovim is constantly working to improve its technology to provide better service. “We are enroute to developing a viable method for processing the most difficult food waste that cannot be processed through simple treatment,” concludes Yang.
